I actually slept in a bit this morning and it was just a few minutes before 5:30 when I got up. Today is our last day of moving for two weeks. We don't mind moving, but we prefer only moving every 3-4 days at the minimum rather than overnight stays. Once in awhile isn't bad but two days in a row makes for a very worn out couple. Any after that and it might change from worn out to irritable. LOL!
We did not rush getting around since we only have a little over 3 hours to travel today. It was nice to have a little leisure time this morning. Dean hooked the water up so I could have a shower with the water running the entire time, rather than get wet, water off, soap up, then rinse off. I really don't mind those "Navy" showers, but I do enjoy when I can just let the water run.
It was 9:40 when we pulled out of Lake Corpus Christi State Park. It was a nice drive on a beautiful day.

A little cool (57) with the breeze when we left but a gorgeous 71 when we pulled into Cottonwood RV Park in Mission.
Our friends Corbin & Flora spoke with the owner and had her save their spot for us to use after they left. Flora sent me a text that the site would have a potted plant and a cone on it, next to friends Lin & Deb. We pulled into the park. I checked at the office but no one was there, so we went on to the site. We pulled up to the site and before Dean parked the rig, friends came over to say hello. It was good to see them. We started to back in, when I saw the owner Delia heading our way. She told me I could come up and pay in the morning.
It took a little bit to get the rig parked, as we had to add some boards under the back right tires to level us out better. After putting out the slides I made us some lunch before we set up much inside.
I was texting our friend Pam on the way down. She invited us to their home on Sunday for the Super Bowl game. I wasn't sure how Dean would feel as he really gets involved in the game but he was all for it, so it was settled, we are going!
There are two Heartland couples here that we know, Lin & Deb, who I mentioned earlier and Mike & Peg. They were not here when we arrived. We were resting in our chairs, when we heard a knock on the door. They were back and stopped to welcome us and invite us to Mike & Peg's at 5. They get together for an hour or so before dinner. It was a really nice evening to be outside and we enjoyed catching up with them.
While we were there I was Mike's brain on things to see and do in West Texas as we head toward New Mexico. Him and Peg, Lin & Deb and Dave & Nancy (another couple who could not make it this year) had visited in the area we plan to stay and they gave us some great ideas. I will work on making reservations in the next day or so for at least the next couple of stops.
It started cooling off and the wind picked up, so I grilled hamburgers inside and made a small dish of baked beans to go with it. We both agreed it tasted great and sure hit the spot.
It sure felt good knowing we didn't have to get up and move 300-350 miles tomorrow. I've said before we would rather keep our travel days to 150-200 miles, and we are doing our best to stick to that for the rest of this trip.
