We left the air conditioner on last night - it was a tad cool this morning when I woke up, but not bad. I believe it reached 80 yesterday and it's predicted to be that warm or warmer again today.
I had several things to do this morning: call to renew prescriptions and go to the post office and check on my Amazon package again. I realized I was entirely out of a prescription so that required a call to the Cherokee Health Center. Because it would take at least 5-7 days for me to receive it, they provided me with the direct number to the Cherokee Pharmacy in Vinita and the pharmacist's name so I could take it to the pharmacy of my choice. I'll ask the pharmacist to call Vinita to obtain the prescription. We'll do that later this morning when we get out.
We will be leaving Wednesday morning around 8, so we are trying to pack many things in to these two days.
By the time we finished our morning chores it was a little after 10, when we headed to the post office. After waiting almost 30 minutes, I finally was able to speak with another supervisor, who of course knew nothing of the situation, so I had to explain it all to her. At this point I was frustrated for having to wait that long and go through the entire process with someone new AGAIN, but I will say this lady seemed to care. I told her before I left I was not upset with her, I had been very patient, but after never receiving a call back, even after following up, I was extremely unhappy with how much time I had to spend there and all I got was come back tomorrow and check on it. I explained to her, the supervisor I spoke with before said he would call me and I never received a response even after I returned a second time looking for information from him. She was very nice and apologized to me for the trouble I had gone through. She took my name and phone number. We'll see how it turns out.

A couple of butterfly statutes in downtown Mission. |
From there we headed to the pharmacy at the Walmart close to us. After talking to the pharmacy assistant she explained I would need to call and ask the Cherokee Pharmacy to call them since it is a new prescription in their files, so I did that while in the store. Afterwards, the Walmart pharmacy assistant entered my name, birthdate and phone number in their system, so when the prescription is filled, they can text me when it is ready for pickup. I love that. It was almost noon by then, so we stopped at a nearby Subway and had a sandwich just in case the prescription was filled (It's slightly over 7 miles from the park, so we were hoping we might not have to drive back there again) but no text arrived. We headed back to the RV, making one stop at Delia's (tamale restaurant) and I bought two dozen frozen pork tamales for future meals.
Around 3, I decided to call back to be sure the pharmacist at Vinita had called my order in to Walmart. We are having dinner with friends at 4 so I wanted to be sure the prescription would be ready before they close this evening at 9, as I need it tomorrow. The assistant advised it had been called in.
After we returned to Bentley, I decided to give up on my order from Amazon and after searching for quite awhile I finally found info on how to cancel the order. The lady I spoke with credited my account and put the funds back on the gift card we used to purchase it with. At this point I don't even want to reorder it. If I don't find the item in a store somewhere before we return to Oswego, I'll reorder it then.
At 3:40 we left to meet our friends at 492 Restaurant about 15 minutes from our park.

Located on the wall behind our table |
Dee and Tim were already there, and it wasn't long before Steve and Diane arrived with their friends Tony and his wife from Ohio, and then a short while later in came Jack and Lynette. All of these couples are parked at Val's Kountry Corral, where we've stayed the past two years. It was a little after 6 before we left the restaurant. It was a wonderful time catching up with everyone, and the food was quite good. Dean had fajita meat with mac n cheese and potato salad. I chose a baked potato topped with brisket.

After leaving the restaurant Dean and I headed to Walmart. I had received a text while we were at the restaurant that my prescription was ready to pickup. I wanted to make a pecan cream pie in the morning so while we were there I bought a container of cool whip. (When we returned home I searched the refrigerator for my cream cheese so I could grab it to lay out to soften in the morning - guess what? I forgot I used that cream cheese - so we'll need to run to Dollar General in the morning and hopefully they will have it).

Pretty sunset on the way home. |
I realized I had a message on my phone on the way home. I didn't hear it ring with all of the noise around us in the restaurant. It was the supervisor I spoke with earlier today at the post office wanting some additional information from me. Unfortunately, it was too late to return the call, so I will call first thing in the morning. If they found my package - I'll call Amazon back and tell them to charge me for it after all.
Earlier this afternoon, I had pulled all of my summer clothes out. I wanted to get them washed up before we move on. I had enough time to do that before heading to bed. Once they were done, I hung them in the shower overnight with a fan on them to be sure they dry overnight.
It was a busy, busy day and for the most part very productive, however the past part of the day was spent with some great friends.
