Thursday, January 30, 2020 - Settling In; Running Errands and Scheduling Time to Wash Bentley

Awww, it was great to take my time this morning getting up, having my coffee and just relaxing, with no particular place to go.....sounds like a song???

Several days ago I had our mail forwarded to General Delivery here in Mission and since I needed to get a few groceries we headed out to take care of those two chores.  It's a little farther to the post office here than it is in Oswego, so we were a little disappointed the mail had not yet arrived.  Oh well.  We made a stop at Walmart which didn't take too long at all.

It was much cooler this morning, enough I had to wear a little heavier jacket and blue jeans today.  Yesterday I was brave and wore capris.

Mike & Lin both had their rigs washed after they arrived here.  They gave Dean a card last night from the guy they used.  Dean called him this morning and they agreed to come by tomorrow morning around 10 to wash and wax Bentley and wash the truck.  They both need it terribly.  It rained in Oswego just before we left and again in Wichita the day before we left, so they both really needed a good cleaning.  Winter is not a good time to keep the rig as clean as we prefer.

I spent the morning bringing our January budget up to date.  We were quite happy with the outcome.  We did go over in Groceries and Dining Out but only a small amount in comparison to how we did all of last year.  I am determined to keep those costs down this year.  We were over quite a bit in propane but January was a COLD month.  We do not anticipate having high costs on that line item again until November and/or December so hopefully it will level out over the year.  Otherwise we were in good shape.

My next "job" for the day was making a plan for the rest of our route.  I did some research on RV parks to consider for the next 9 days and I will look into reservations for those tomorrow.  I spent time looking at things to do in the area to determine how much time we wanted to spend in these areas.

I also made use of the washer today and got all of our laundry caught up.  Doing a load a day is so much easier, but today I had three in order to get caught up.

It was too cold for us to all get together and set outside this evening so Dean and I had our dinner and then watched TV until it was time to go to bed.

A pretty low key day, but we needed it.
