Wednesday, March 18, 2020 - Our Last Travel Day with Bentley for Awhile

Wednesday, March 18, 2020 - Our Last Travel Day with Bentley for Awhile; Wichita to Oswego.

The rain is following us.  It rained most of the night and was still lightly raining this morning.  I enjoyed drinking my first cup of coffee before Dean joined me.  It wasn't long before we were ready to have our shake and start packing up one last time for awhile.  Neither of us enjoy moving every day, so I believe we are both ready to be parked in the same spot for awhile.

It was 9:19 when we left All-Seasons RV Park.  Traffic wasn't bad driving through Wichita on Hwy 400.  It was over an hour later before we pulled into the rest stop near Beaumont.  We were surprised to find most of the truck parking taken.  Typically you only see one or two. They are definitely keeping the roads busy.  There was a spot available, and as we pulled in, one pulled out.  In no time we were back on the road.

As we neared Parsons, I was sad we could not stop to see Marc and his family, and we felt the same as we arrived in Oswego about Misti and my sister's.  It's really hard but I do believe it's best for all of us if we stick to our plan to stay away from everyone for another week.

We pulled into Hillside RV Park and found Todd working in the shop.  He came out to meet us and we explained our concerns about being around anyone for the next week, so we maintained our distance. He followed us to our site in his truck, so he could remove a couple of metal stands from the lot.  In no time, Dean was pulled in and we were setting up.  Todd needed to change a part on the water faucet, and then he returned to whatever job we took him from.  Being a one man show, he's always busy doing things around here.

It was 12:38pm when we unhooked Bentley from the truck.  We were both glad to be in Oswego.

We are the hosts for our first casual campout for our local Escapees group coming up in approximately a month.  I called our President to see if we should move forward or not.  After speaking with him I checked with the park.  They have no plans to close, so for now we will move forward.

I was thankful for the leftover taco soup we only had to warm up tonight. I think it always tastes better the second day.

Oswego has had quite a bit of rain and the ground is pretty saturated.  Unfortunately, tomorrow there is more rain in the forecast.

Goodnight from Oswego, Kansas.
