We enjoyed a relaxing morning, then enjoyed a walk down the road west of the park. It never occurred to me to link a Google Map to the blog, but I like the idea of having an overview to remind us of the area around the parks where we have stayed. I have a hard time remembering the direction of where we are located with all of the moves, so I pulled the map up to orient myself, and a new idea occurred!

This is behind the office in the park. The only lizard I saw here, was one that run under the wagon, but disappeared before I could get his picture. |
After lunch we drove to Brawley, to purchase a few things we needed for the next few days. This was the closest location (40 miles) to a Walmart or a full service grocery store. As we drove in, we noticed a place along the road where you could purchase a date shake. We talked about stopping to buy one on the way back to the park, but we forgot about it until we were too far down the road to turn around. After we returned to the RV, I washed a couple of loads of clothes, anxiously awaiting the arrival of our guest for the weekend.
Dean and I set our chairs outside to enjoy the sun at our site after lunch. He got the grill and the fire genie out so we could enjoy a fire later this evening, and I put the picnic tablecloth on our table so we could eat outside.
Logan arrived around 5:30. The first thing he asked was "what made you decide on this location"? I know he must have thought where am I going, once he turned off the highway and started down the sand blown road to the turnoff for the park. It is pretty much "out of the way" to say the least.
After hugs, we all set down outside to visit and enjoy the evening around the Fire Genie. Dean grilled hamburgers that we enjoyed with some chips, followed by fruit. It was a great evening visiting with our oldest grandson. It was so good to see him after more than a year.

A relaxing evening around the fire. |
Yay! enjoy your time with Logan. Looks like a nice park but too bad about the wifi connection.
ReplyDeleteThe worse part was putting me behind with the blog and answering comments, reading other blogs, etc.
DeleteBet you two are glad Logan is there. So nice to have your home way out in the desert, but a pain sometimes getting to the store. I guess we can't have it all:))
ReplyDeleteIt was worth it for a short time. It did allow us to be close to several places for the weekend, but we did miss the internet in the early am, and late evening for reading emails, blogs, etc.
