We were up early for our drive back to Casa Grande, AZ, leaving the park at 8:42am. We arrived at High Chaparral RV Resort at 2:50pm. We were both tired, and because we will only be here two nights we only unpacked what we needed.
I took a few pictures on the way:

| As we drove on to Highway 86 south, these were the cars waiting to go through the Border Control area. I'm glad we were on the other side. It was quite a wait on our way in. |

Once we had checked in at our RV Park - High Chapparral we were parked a short time later. Within a half hour we headed into Casa Grande. I needed to get a few things to make corn dip. We are meeting a fellow RV couple and blogger tomorrow at their house along with some other RV friends of theirs. I wanted to get the dip made this evening so it would have time to set up.
I made some goulash when we returned and after eating/dishes we just enjoyed watching a little TV.
Tuesday, March 10, 2020 - Meeting up with RVing Friends
I need to give you a little background on our meetup today. I started following a number of RV blogs shortly before and after we retired. One of those blogs was Bill and Jan RVing the USA. Bill and Jan no longer RV, but Jan does write occasional blogs when they travel somewhere. Their travel patterns have changed but I still enjoy reading them - hoping maybe someday it is something we can do as well.
In October 2016, where we were attending a local Escapee rally at Cedar Oaks RV Resort in Grove, OK I met the first blogger that I had been following. Each morning when I get up I would read blog posts that were in my email. As I was reading Jan's, I realized they were in the same park as we were. I waited a couple of hours before I sent her an email (since I get up so early, I sure didn't want her to dislike me right away, after all), asking if she would have time to meet up with us. As it was, our friends Bill and Mary had just came back from a Montana Rally, and were also in the park. Bill and Jan, and Bill and Mary both owned Montana's and knew each other from the rally. I called Mary to see if she would like to go visit Bill and Jan later in the day, and of course she did. We walked over in the afternoon to visit. We had a wonderful time with them. Since we were having our potluck that evening, and they were Escapee members, they joined us, and we enjoyed visiting with them even more during and after the meal. Dean and I met up with them again the following year at the Escapade in Tucson, but we haven't had the chance to see them since.
I reached out to Jan a week or two ago, to see if they would be available and have time while we were there to stop by to see them. She said yes, so here's the rest of the story.
We were to be at their house around noon; we would have a chance to visit for 30 minutes or so before others started arriving. Their friends George and Linda, Doug and Jackie, and her sister Sherry, and husband Dave also arrived. Bill cooked us hamburgers on the grill. We had quite a bit of food to go along with it, baked beans, deviled eggs, corn dip/fritos, and several condiments. For dessert, we had banana pudding. It was all delicious. We set outside on their patio for at least 2, maybe 3 hours, before a weather report indicated rain was on its way. I cannot believe I did not get pictures of everyone, but Dean did take this picture of a gamble quail.

We drove almost the entire 12-14 miles back to the campground in the rain and it rained most of the night.
We had such a great time with Bill and Jan and their friends. They welcomed us into the get together just like RVer's tend to do.
