I heard my phone "ping" while still laying in bed. I got up and went downstairs to see what it was. Cindy sent me a text, so I called her after starting the coffeepot. We visited for 15-20 minutes. I enjoyed my two cups of coffee, before getting dressed. I needed to run some errands. A little after eight I took Crystal's shirt/jeans and cooler back to her, and she is going to take the pitchers Carol loaned me to her on Monday (if they aren't closed for Columbus Day) or Tuesday (if they are closed Monday). Yesterday was Carol's birthday and I forgot to take her birthday card to Mark's house on Friday evening, so I dropped it off at her house. Next stop was to drop the keys to the community center off at City Hall. I left a note about the keys not working, and thanking Calvin's crew for putting up the no parking signs at the Community Center. We really appreciated them doing that.
Back at Bentley, I had breakfast, showered, then finished stowing things for our move. It was 10:23 when we left and 11:51 when we pulled into our site at Coachlight RV Park in Carthage, MO. The office manager Mike told us we would be at the bottom of the hill in the park since it was full due to the annual week long Maple Leaf Festival. Once they have everyone delivered to their site they are going to allow our group the use of their golf carts. That will be nice for those who may find it difficult to climb the hill several times throughout the day. One thing about it, I don't want to forget everything we need, or it's going to be some long treks back and forth if the golf cart is busy. I look at it this way - it means lots of steps for me, and going uphill will be some great cardio exercise too. Unless I have something HOT to carry, I'll walk.

We were stopped, so I snapped this picture of Bentley "on the road again". |
Since we are going to Branson from Carthage, we decided it would be worth it to bring the car along. It probably took less than 2 gallons to drive here, and we'll definitely save money driving the car versus the truck for nearly two weeks while we are here in Carthage and Branson.
We were soon set up and were ready for lunch. I cheated today. The thought of eating a ham/cheese low carb tortilla rollup did not appeal to me at all today. I used two of the small pieces of bread Jamie sent home with us to make a grilled cheese sandwich. I can't remember the last time I had one. It was so good on this beautiful cool day. Speaking of the weather, I don't mind a cold night, as long as they stay as beautiful as today was. Perfect for sitting outside!
I received a text from our friend Donna. Earlier we had talked about the possibiltiy of her and David coming to Branson next week. I will call Treasure Lake tomorrow to see if we can get them a cabin and let them know. I hope it works out. We really miss seeing them at the rally's since they are no longer RVing.
The Chiefs game had already started when Dean turned the TV on. I worked on yesterday's blog as we watched the game. It was not a good ending for our team. Hopefully they regroup and it gets better after now having two losses in a row.
With our door open, we heard a unit pulling in next to us. I walked to the door and it was Stan and Linda, one of the couples in our Escapee group. We said our hellos and then we left them to set up. After the game was over, Dean went out and set up our chairs. When he put the awning out, he had forgotten he had not opened it since it rained and water went everywhere. Fortunately it didn't get the chairs real wet. He wiped them off and we were able to sit out. Soon after that Stan and Linda walked over and we visited for a couple of hours. We sure enjoyed our time with them. Tomorrow we'll see many of our friends rigs coming in throughout the day. We are looking forward to spending the week eating, playing games, sitting around the "fire genies" and having some great conversations.
Dean and I decided to make a Walmart run. We needed a few things for this week, but first we made a stop at Taco Bell. We were happy with the food, but the drinks were way overpriced. My "small" medium drink was over $2. I'll ditch the drink and have water next time.
We found what we needed at Walmart and headed back to Bentley. I tried to work on the blog but I kept falling asleep. At 9:30, I told Dean I was going to bed.
What a beautiful day it was. I hope this weather stays with us for a long time; and I hope your day was a great one!
I feel that there is nothing wrong with going to bed at 9:30 or whenever we feel that tired. Blogs and actually anything else can wait! It all means we have a fabulous day either working or socializing. :)
