Last night I set my alarm for 5am. I needed to get up early, have my coffee, shower and be ready to leave Oswego a little before 8. Now, I know that is more than enough time, but I do enjoy having my coffee and having everything done before I leave - so after a day of shopping, there is nothing much to do when I return home. My granddaughters can wear me out with a full day of shopping - but I would not trade it for anything.
I picked up Haleigh. We drove to Parsons, picked up Kamron and then headed to Joplin via 400 Highway. We made our first stop at McDonald's in Pittsburg to get frappe's. Haleigh had never had one but she agreed to give it a try - and she loved it! While Haleigh thought she would like the caramel or chocolate chip better, they were out of both, so we all had mocha.
Once we reached Joplin our first shopping stop was Hobby Lobby, Kamron's favorite. Haleigh purchased yarn to make a throw, the big rope type yarn. She chose pink and grey. I'm anxious to see how it comes out. Kamron and I enjoyed looking.

Not sure what they were doing here - acting silly, I suppose! |
By then it was almost 11, and we were meeting Aunt Cindy (my sister) at Olive Garden. Would you believe we followed her right into the parking lot. Talk about perfect timing. We were seated immediately. Cindy, Kamron and I chose one of their soups, with salad; while Haleigh had her favorite, shrimp alfredo. We visited for awhile and then we took off to shop some more.

The Mall was calling the girls and we walked from one end to the other. I don't know how far it is, I can just tell you it was many steps! We had a good time though, laughed a lot, looked at a lot of things, and just enjoyed our time together.

And here they are in Rue 21:
We didn't stop even after we left the mall. Next we visited Michael's, followed by Books-A-Million. This store is something these two girls definitely have in common. They both love to read, and both of them left with some new books.
One final stop before we left was McDonald's - but this time for me. The girls didn't want anything, but I was dragging. I had an ice tea to sip on for the drive home, to make sure I didn't get too tired. I didn't need to worry about that. We had a good time singing songs, and asking questions about ourselves to each other, to see who knew the most about one person than the other. We found out we knew more about each other than we thought and it was fun.
Haleigh needed to pick Isaiah up when we returned to Oswego and then we took them back to Misti's.

I thought the cloud in this dark blue sky was really beautiful. I realized later that it was our daughter-in-law's sisters' house in the picture, too. |
Kamron and I stopped to get Dean, then we headed to Parsons. We took Kamron home to change clothes and get her golf clubs. She was meeting friends at the golf course. Marc, Kamron's dad called right after we dropped her off. He had just picked Jaxson up. Jaxson had some news for us. He has been taking private swimming lessons - this is his third day and today he swam across the pool under water, coming up for air on his own. He was afraid to even try to put his head under water the first day. Marc was amazed at how well the lessons had gone. He was so surprised to watch him swim across the pool - like a little fish he said.

When we dropped Kamron off at the golf course I had to snap a picture of this golf club flag pole! |
Dean played golf with grandson Tucker in Oswego today. Dean and I had planned to go to Pizza Hut in Columbus tonight to eat because Tucker started working there a couple of weeks ago, however we found out he is a cook, not a server, so we decided to stop at Braum's on our way home and have a hamburger. Can you believe it, we didn't even have ice cream!
I had things to do when we returned home. We had a change in our class reunion plans and I needed to redo the flyer so they could go in the mail tomorrow. I've since taken care of those and I'll take them to the post office tomorrow. I still need one address, but I hope to get it tomorrow before we leave.
We are headed to Branson, MO tomorrow. Dean took care of most of his moving chores today. I'll do as much as I can tonight, with plans to leave early tomorrow.
What a busy time but it sounds like a real hoot! Times like that get fewer and farther apart so nice to see you had a full day of it. :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely on the times - and I do love the time with them!
DeleteMaking memories with the Grandkids, sounds like you had a busy wonderful day.
