It was a little after 5 when I woke up this morning. After doing my exercises I read through my post from yesterday, making a few changes. I realized I forgot to take pictures of a couple of places I mentioned, so when we walk this morning we'll get those.
We had our coffee and it was about 7:50 when we left to walk. It was much warmer this morning and the sun was already moving on up. Fortunately we have some great shade in the park. Since one of the pictures I wanted was of the entrance sign to the park, we walked the sidewalk from the park to the sign. After taking the picture we walked over to the community center and then around the fairgrounds to Kamp Siesta - Oswego's RV Park. A couple of years ago they added more sites to the east since there is such a demand for spots during the Labette County Fair. We lollygagged this morning and it took us almost 45 minutes to walk our 2 miles - we usually do it in about 35 min.

I managed to get a few things done this morning while Dean was at our lot burning some brush he had piled up there since we've been home. He came home for lunch but I had not been to the store yet. We were out of lunch meat. Fortunately the grocery store is almost across the street from the RV park. While I was there I picked up another package of assorted vegetables ready to grill for our dinner tonight. I'm hoping we can actually get two meals out of these veggies. Tonight we are grilling salmon.
I needed to file a claim with an insurance we have to get a reimbursement for wellness exams, after I got copies of the bills in the mail a few days ago. I'd say I was getting close to getting all of my "paperwork" done but I don't want to jinx myself! LOL!!
After Dean went back to the lot, I did some laundry, and prepped the salmon for dinner tonight. I decided to try a different recipe. I've always grilled the salmon, then added dill weed and butter afterwards. We like it that way, but I've had some really great salmon meals that had more of a glaze on them and that's what I was looking for.
The one I selected - Grilled Salmon with a Sweet Glaze called for a sweet and Spicy Dry Rub, and then once it is on the grill, it calls for an Orange Maple Glaze to be brushed on it. Dean said it was the best salmon he's had, so I think the recipe is a keeper.
After I washed the dishes, Dean wanted to go back to the lot. As I mentioned earlier, he had a large pile of brush he has accumulated as he's been cleaning around the trees, the garage, etc. The fire was out when he left but he wanted to check it again. While we were there we walked over the lot and talked about the different trees.: what we'd like to stay and what needs to go. I took a few pictures to share with you. It still has lots of brush to be removed but we've got time to work on it. Dean enjoys spending time down there and being outside. He's already greatly improved the looks of it - just by getting rid of the weeds around the trees and the garage.

| That garage was on the lot when we purchased it. We are waiting for a contractor to put a new roof on it. When we return this fall, we will do some additional work to it. |

We've enjoyed relaxing tonight, and watching "The Fugitive" with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. It's been a good day! I hope yours has been too!

Looks like a wonderful piece of property to hang out at.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good place to settle down in
ReplyDeleteWould love to know who Grammie Roo is. Send me an email if you would. Thanks for following.
DeleteIt would be nice if we could park the RV there while we are here, but it is not permitted if we are living in it. Fortunately we have a great space here at my cousin's RV Park. Once we build there, we can park it on the property. We recently discovered someone a few blocks away built a building, where they can house their RV, and they are currently living in it - inside the building. We've talked about doing something like that but not sure that is what we want.
