I was shocked when I woke up this morning - It was slightly after 6am. Dean was already up and he was just getting ready to pour his first cup of coffee. I assumed he hadn't been up very long. However, I soon learned I forgot to get the coffepot ready the night before. Believe it or not almost every single time Dean gets up before me, I've forgot to take care of it the night before. He told me the worse part was I had not even run the water through the Brita pitcher - so he had to do that too! He thinks I sleep in on purpose when this happens. Maybe my subconscious knows that and I do. Either way, it made for a fun conversation this morning!
It was in the 50's early this morning and only 59 when we left to walk. It sure felt nice. The sun was trying hard to burn through the clouds, but it didn't happen until after we returned to Bentley. It's going to be a beautiful day! We walked late (my fault for being lazy...lol!), so we only got in a mile at the park. (As I'm proofing this, I see my exercise watch says I have almost 17,000 steps, so I still did a lot of moving today.)
After going all day yesterday I'm staying in - laundry, cleaning, defrosting the freezer and trying to figure out what to fix for dinner tonight. Maybe a quick trip to the grocery store - but hopefully staying close to home all day. I'll be gone again most of the day tomorrow so I need to rest up! Lol! Like all of these things are resting?
Second load in the washing machine, freezer defrosted, rearranged a few things in cabinets - seems I'm always finding a better way to store things, and I need to head to the grocery store pretty quick.
Dean left to play golf this morning. I'm glad he's been able to play so much, since he went most of last month unable to play, due to the rain. He really enjoys it, it keeps him busy and it's good exercise.
My cousin gave me a few pictures last night I'll share with you. I forgot about them when I returned home last night, and found them this morning when I picked my purse up from the couch.

I pulled my Instapot out and boiled some eggs to make deviled eggs. They are one of Dean's favorite foods. I ran to the grocery store while the eggs cooled. We needed lunch meat for our wraps that we'll have when he gets home. I have just enough tomato left to add to our wrap. I bought a package of the precooked bacon and a couple of slices really put that wrap over the top!
After lunch Dean went out to empty the tanks, while I hung up another load of clothes.
Dean wanted to get our mail in Pittsburg, and wanted to know if I'd like to ride along. Sure, I haven't been out of the house except for 10 minutes when I was at the store. We were there and back in about half an hour. It was nice to have a little time to visit. We've been so busy the past few days.
Once home, I started the beef tips. There were a few steps, but a very easy recipe that included making a gravy. I made some rice, and steamed the last of the broccoli/cauliflower I had in the refrigerator. Of course, we added a few deviled eggs too. It made a great meal, and best of all Dean liked it. That's good, since there is just enough tips and rice for his lunch tomorrow.
After I finished washing the dishes and putting everything away, I set down to finish this up so I could post it tonight. Tomorrow I am taking Haleigh and Kamron to Joplin. We'll do a little shopping and have lunch somewhere. Aunt Cindy may join us for lunch. I'm looking forward to spending the day with them. It's hard finding a day they are both free at the same time. Kamron practices golf several times a week and does weightlifting in the mornings. Haleigh works several days a week and some weekends, so I was blessed they are both available tomorrow.
Hoping your day was wonderful!

Yes, Cheri, that didn't sound like much resting was done! Oh well, you got a lot of things done. I don't know what to say about the freezer, we don't need to defrost ours and it is always crammed full. Good for you, keeping up with it.
ReplyDeleteI love the old pictures, i look at everything. Our Dad's flannel plaid shirts, their glass cases in the pockets and usually a paper and pencil in Daddy's. I love the hair styles and older dresses. :)
Hope you have a good drive today to Joplin.
Busy as always I see. And some tasty food as well.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of frost in your freezer, not sure why. I do ours about 2 times a year but is usually right full all the time, no room for frost..
It has continually gotten worse. Last time was bad, but this much worse. Up until the last several weeks it has been pretty full. I've been using what I had in it b4 I defrosted. It didn't get much worse in that time.
DeleteMaybe the gasket around the door is not sealing and letting air in .
DeleteSupposedly that is not the problem. I guess I'll just live with it. I did read something about people covering their ice bin and I'm going to try that. Anything is worth a try - you never know what might help!
