I woke up at 3:15 or so this morning. I went to the bathroom, and while I was there I checked the towels. They were still a little damp, so I turned the backside to the front, hoping that might speed up the process a bit. I told myself I need to go back to bed - thinking time was "Falling Back". I did lay down, but at 3:45 I couldn't lay there any longer, so I got up. It took me awhile to realize we were "Springing Forward" and it wasn't that early after all. After writing yesterday's blog post it is now 6:43, which means we will need to get moving pretty quickly. We want to at least walk this morning to get in some exercise.
We did manage to walk a little over a mile before returning to Bentley for breakfast and showers before leaving for church. Today is our last Sunday here. We will really miss this church and the people we've met. I'm glad we've decided to return next winter.
We asked Gary and his wife Janice to ride to church with us this morning. When we went to pick them up Gary said Janice was a little under the weather today so it was just him. After church we stopped at Dairy Queen for a quick lunch. While we were there some friends of Gary's came in - Ken and Sandy. They actually set with our bunch one time earlier this year but I don't believe we were introduced to them at that time. They were a very nice couple and we enjoyed the visit while we ate our lunch.
After returning to the park, we dropped Gary off at his house. We stopped at Bentley long enough to change into more casual clothes and lay some salmon out to thaw for dinner. Then we headed to Sam's for a few things and Dean wanted to get fuel ($2.49/gal) for the truck since we'll be leaving in a few days. Our next stop was Wal-mart for a few groceries. By the time we returned to the park it was time to fix dinner before heading up to the clubhouse for the Sunday Birthday Sundaes. I fixed salmon steaks in the new air fryer. I cooked them 2 minutes less than it called for and they were slightly overcooked. I'll cook them a total of 5 minutes next time rather than 6. I also made herb rice that we really love. It was the perfect light meal before we have dessert later.
After ice cream and cake, I stayed to play Hand, Knee and Foot with several ladies, and Dean went on back to Bentley. We had players at three tables - 4 at two tables and 6 at the third one. I played with Jan, Shirley and Barb. Shirley and I were partners. We won big on the first hand, a little over 2,000 points, but we lost big on the second and final hand - with a final score of 1,000 less than the winner. I don't remember the actual scores. I love to play cards and it was fun to have the opportunity this evening.
It was another great day.
Monday, March 12, 2018 - is my daughter's birthday. She is such a special young lady and I love her so much. She works hard at everything she does. She's a great mother to her two kids - Haleigh and Logan. She's involved in school activities, showing support for her kids. She's very involved in church and she loves the Lord. I'm so proud of her and all she does. Misti Dawn Blair, I am so thankful to have you as a daughter. I miss you and look forward to seeing you soon. I hope your birthday is extra special - just like you!
