I was up at 4:30 and worked on the blog until it was time to eat breakfast and get ready for the day. I still had the nagging neck ache but it seemed a little better this morning. We left about 8:45 or so - it's only a few parks from us. Well, folks love a garage sale - no matter where it is - Kansas, Texas - it's all the same, cars lined up to turn into the park and all over inside. We parked the truck at Dennis and Pam's. Dean had loaded my bicycle in the back of the truck before we left, so Pam and I rode bicycles to the various sales. Dennis and Dean followed us in their golf cart. It was cool, but not as cold as I thought it might be. I wore my hooded sweatshirt, a jacket, and gloves and actually stayed pretty warm. We made our way around almost the entire park, and when we got back to Dennis and Pam's lot, Pam and I took the golf cart to catch a few streets we had missed. While we were out it started to rain, enough the seats were getting wet, so we headed back to their lot. Our purchases for the day: Dean bought a bike rack that will fit on the ladder of the RV for $5. I bought a paper tray to hold loose papers for 75 cents. I looked for one at Walmart several weeks ago but they were so flimsy, and I thought they were too expensive for what you got. The one I bought today was an older one - made of heavier material and it still looked new. They were both good purchases for us.

We set in their rig for awhile and visited until we needed to head back home to get ready for our luncheon with the Heartland Owners Club. Lunch is at 11:00 at the Grand China Buffet in Pharr. We really like Chinese food, and this is our first time having it here, so we hope this place is good. They had a huge buffet with mostly Chinese dishes, but a few "American" foods, a Mongolian grill, and a sushi bar. We both chose to have items from the buffet today. Everything was pretty good. I wasn't overly fond of their egg rolls. I like mine crisp and these were a little mushy for me, but the flavor wasn't too bad. They didn't have cashew chicken and it's one of my favorites but there were plenty of other items, so I didn't go hungry! To top it off, they had 8 varieties of Blue Bunny ice cream for dessert They provide small paper cups, and you dip your own. It was just the right amount for a little sweet at the end of the meal. We would definitely come back here. Next time I will try the Mongolian grill.
We've been wanting to go to Academy or Walmart to look for a few things for our bicycles. Fortunately for us, Academy was right behind the restaurant, so we stopped in after lunch. The bicycle section was just in the door to the left, so we didn't even have to spend time looking for it. I picked out a new seat, Dean bought a cover for his seat, and a pair of padded bike shorts (our friend Hoot told him about these and highly recommended them), and a lock for the bikes. Now if the weather will clear up, maybe we can try them out soon.
Back home, I just wanted to set down for awhile. My neck was still hurting and had intensified. I took a couple of Tylenol and next thing I knew I was waking up, almost 2 hours later, and I felt better. During lunch, I was sitting next to Flora, and she asked me to come by her rig so she could share some of the seasoning she used for the corn dish she brought to Nancy's. She said she had way more than she could use. Dean finished up paying bills and balancing the checkbook (what he was doing while I was sleeping), then we drove over to Corbin and Flora's. We visited for a good hour - possibly longer and I left with a small container of the spice (which will go a long way). They are such a nice couple, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit with them.
I was wondering what, if anything we would have for dinner when I picked up my phone to see if I had any messages. I had forgotten to take it with us earlier. I did have a message - from Nancy - dinner at 6 at their place. They were using up leftovers. I had a partial loaf of sliced french bread leftover from making the bread pudding, so I took it and a tub of butter. Nancy and Peg made salads using the leftover chicken. That really hit the spot - something light after the big meal we had at lunch. Fortunately there was no wind this evening, but it was getting pretty cool outside when we left around 7.
My neck was feeling better, but still a little sore, so I took some more Tylenol, and used Biofreeze on and around the area where it was aching. Hopefully, it will be fine in the morning.
Believe it or not, as of this writing, we have nothing planned for tomorrow.
