It was another late night and late morning wake up for me. I was busy working on some things. I guess my mind would not rest when I went to bed. Tonight I'll play my online game Freecell - it puts me to sleep! LOL!!!
It was after 6:30 when I got up. Again, I was able to read blog posts and even found a few more to follow. While the list seems long, not everyone posts daily, and some are short. I enjoy reading them and always enjoy finding what fellow RVer's are doing, and new places to visit.
Happy birthday to Matt today! In two weeks we'll get to celebrate in person with him, his wife Megan and their three children Josh, Sarah & Sam. After more than a year, we are excited to see them again!
I needed some groceries. Rather than go to the store in person, I did an online order with Walmart here in Goshen. We need to pick the order up between 3-4 this afternoon.
I spent a good part of the day finishing up the laundry. It has been a week since we last had a sewer hookup, so I am taking advantage of the opportunity to get it done while we are here.
We used the last of our lunchmeat for sandwiches today, so I sure hope they have the lunchmeat I ordered! That is one drawback to online orders from Walmart - I wish I knew for sure they have what I ordered. I do not ask for them to make substitutions for me, as I'd like to make those myself. Maybe someday they will give you an option to choose a substitution up front?
After lunch, we took a ride through the countryside. We love looking at the beautiful homes and landscaping in the area. The Amish homes are all so clean and white. We drove through Goshen looking around, including a drive through Ox Bow Park. It was a beatuiful, large park with various activities and many, many people taking advantage of them. Many were walking or bicycling the trails, as well as a picnic taking place at a nice large shelterhouse. It was a good day to be outside.
From there, we drove into the downtown area which we enjoyed so much a few years ago. I noticed all of the statues have been removed. I don't know if they are doing some work there or what. They were very cute statues. Here is a link to the blog post with pictures of the statutes from when we visited three years ago. I could not make the link on The New Blooger work, so I just dropped it in here. https://deanandcheri.blogspot.com/2017/06/june-13-15-2017-2017-north-american.html The statutes are near the bottom of the 2017 blog post.
A few minutes after 3:00 we pulled into the Walmart Pickup Site to collect our order. Almost all of the sites were filled, so evidently the 2-3pm group showed up toward the end of their time frame. It was 3:30 or later before they brought our order out, which was fine. We didn't have anywhere to go but back to the RV. We didn't mind people watching while we waited.
Finally, after we returned home, and put groceries away, the last load of clothes was dried and folded. For dinner I made breakfast burritoes. We enjoy them and they are easy to make with not much clean-up. Afterwards, I decided to dust and sweep the floors. At least it doesn't take that long to do with such a small footprint.
So it's 8:35 and that's been the extent of our day. A nice slow day, with a little fun and quite a bit has been accomplished. Hopefully, it will be an early night and a good sleep, with an early morning start to tomorrow.
I like to read your blog and am really missing travelling in our caravan as most borders here are still closed. We are going to get away and travel in our own State but it is so cold here in winter that we will wait until the weather warms up a bit. Thanks for visiting my Blog. Stay safe and well.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rosie. We hear numbers from many places about Covid but I have not heard anything about Australia. Is it bad there? Cold weather makes it tough to get out. I think we are still going to Texas this winter. I feel for our full time Canadian friends who may not be able to head south for the winter. I will look forward to your travels again, however I continue to enjoy places you've already been.
DeleteCheri, here in Adelaide, South Australia we have been fairly lucky but anyone coming here has had to quarantine for 14 days. We have all been self isolating but in Victoria they are having a 2nd wave of cases and are locked down for 6 weeks so they are having to stay home and have had many deaths, mainly in aged care. It is all so sad for the families with elderly parents. Most of us cannot travel outside of our States. We will travel within our State in September when the weather starts to warm up.
DeleteI've only done Walmart pick up once but will probably do it again in the future. Wasn't happy with the water substitution so I'll check the box as you do. Happy Birthday Matt! I bet you are excited to see them again! I love Amish country! Sounds like a great day to be outside for sure!
ReplyDeleteI can't say I love walmart pickup but when away from our hometown I'd rather use it. We did go in to Meijer grocery a few days ago. I wanted some meat which I prefer to choose myself, plus fruit and veggies. If never been in one but it was similar to Walmart, with much more than food.
DeleteWe are so excited to see Matt and family, and now another soon is moving to Nevada. Of 6 kids, now only soon Marc will be close. It's sad, but I'm happy they are doing well, too.
We went to the fairgrounds race track to watch the trotted race—what a hoot. And, the coveted areas for the horse/buggies was another great observation. Obviously, I’ve led a sheltered life.

We enjoyed watching the horse "races" when we were here for the Heartland rally 3 years ago. We really enjoyed it too. It's a really neat area to visit.
