Saturday, August 1, 2020 - Preparing for Tomorrow's Move; Enjoying a Beautiful Day at Oswego Golf Course; Orange Chicken Dinner

It was another busy day in the lives of Dean and Cheri - I guess we don't want it any other way because it never seems to change.  I'm not complaining, just stating a fact.  LOL!!!!  I choose to say - it's what keeps us young.  HAHA!

I was up early and visited with my sister Cindy for awhile.  Since I've been super busy and she's been walking in the mornings (when we usually talk) I haven't had much time to visit with her.  It was nice to catch up a bit.

Dean had a few things he wanted to do outside, in preparation for our move on Sunday morning, before he heads to Parsons to the Chevrolet dealership to have the truck serviced.  He left at 9:30 or so.  I continued with the laundry that had piled up while we were busy earlier this week (I will get that blog post caught up in a few days).  After the servcie work is done he is meeting grandson Tucker at the Oswego Golf Course.

I made a trip to the Dollar General for a couple of large tubs.  I've accumulated several things we do not need to keep in the RV, so we loaded those up and took them to the garage later in the day.  Glad to have it out of my way.  Some clothes will come back in this winter as the weather changes.  I also made a quick stop at the grocery store for a few things we will need when we leave tomorrow.

After cleaning out the refrigerator I set down to make a few RV park reservations for the first few days of our excursion.  Our first stop will be in Marshfield, MO (just east of Springfield) to make a stop at Camping World.  We just renewed our membership with Good San's/Camping World.  I've been wanting a new chair for awhile and with the $30 coupon they sent me it was the perfect time to make the purchase.

I wanted to make a reservation at Robertsville State Park in Robertsville, MO.  Unfortunately, I could not log in to their system, so I'll try again later.  Next was seeking a campground at Vincennes, IN.  Fortunately I was able to make that reservation at Ouabache Trails Park Campground.  Since it's the weekend I decided to wait until Monday to check on a site at Robertsville, MO State Park.

I've been very lax on keeping my RV logbook up to date, just noting the basic information.  I wanted to get it updated before we take off on this upcoming trip.  It felt good to know it was out of the way.  Next was to begin the process of updating the June and July budget spreadsheets.  Dean returned home just a short time later.  He changed cothes and we had a bite to eat.  He was going to mow the yard  when Misti and Haleigh showed up.  Woo-hoo!  I was glad to see them.  Haleigh is staying here with her Grandma Bates and Misti followed her to be sure she had no problems with her car.  While here she is going to play golf, and asked if we wanted to go out with her.  Dean changed back into his golf clothes.   He and Misti played 9 holes while I rode along with Misti.  It was a gorgeous day - nice and comfortable outside.  80 degree weather with little, to no humidity.  I enjoyed spending the afternoon with her and getting the chance to visit.

After they finished their game, Dean and I headed back home.  He changed and left to mow, and I went back to work on a few things I wanted to get done before we leave.  When he returned about 6 or so, I made orange chicken for dinner.  Misti stopped by before she left to drive back to Ponca City.  It was so good to see her.

After dinner, I did some pre-prep for our move tomorrow, putting things away we would not be using before we leave tomorrow to speed the process up in the morning.  It seems there is always a lot to think about before taking off on a long trip, even though we carry most everything we need with us.  My biggest concern is not putting something away so it does not create a problem for us on the road, or when we arrive at the new site.
