Sunday, August 16, 2020 - Morning Walk; Laundry; Drive to Albion, IN

Sunday, August 16, 2020 - Morning Walk; Laundry; Drive to Albion, IN; Nice Dinner at Home

It was about 5:50 when I woke this morning - a little later than I like, but I stayed up watching a movie last night.  I started working on yesterday's blog after going through the pictures I took yesterday, so I could finish it and post it this morning.

We walked - a little later than yesterday.  Tomorrow we must start earlier.  It was already warming up by the time we returned around 8:45.

How resourceful using this old washer for a planter.

I've enjoyed the flowers here in the fairground area

I bet this feels great on a hot afternoon!

Cute directional signs

Several more rigs came in the last couple of days.

Today was just a routine morning, finishing the blog, making breakfast, doing a load of laundry, etc.  Nothing spetacular.

For lunch we enjoyed chicken salad with half of a thinly sliced avocado laid on top in a wrap, with carrots and celery on the side along with a bit of pimento cheese to dip them in.

We decided we would drive to Albion this afternoon to check out the campground we plan to stay at when we return from our stay in Michigan.  We discovered it's not not so much a campground as it is a place to park for a day or two.  There only have a few sites but they are nicely shaded with water and electric hookups.  Only one RV was there.  It's located in their city park which is very nice.  It's reasonably priced, and there are some things to see and do in the area so I think we'll enjoy ourselves while we wait to make our travel day across Ohio next Sunday to meet Matt and family.

Barrell racing, is ready to go!

Albion has a beautiful downtown area.  There is so much more to share but I'll wait until we are there to share the rest of the sights, as well as those in nearby Legonier, IN.  We took a quick drive through on our way back.  We were pleasantly surprised with both communities.

On our way home I saw this sitting along the road.  I'm sorry for the poor picture - the sun was not accomodating.  It reminded me of my Papa Blackledge.  He operated B&D Motors in Chetopa for many, many years where he sold and repaired cars.  In addition he had a towing service.  He had an old wrecker - not this model - but it definitely brought back memories of his.

This is a flower bed in front of the Elkhart County Fairgrounds where we are staying.  I have intended to take a picture of it and today I told Dean please help me remember to take one on the way back to the campground.  He did too! Behind it is an old barn that is inside the fairgrounds.

I have been receving quite a lot of spam that has forced me to have people sign up in order to post comments to the blog.  I hope it does not create a problem for anyone currently following it.  I can't continue to have this junk come up and delete it everyday.

It was a quiet day.  Dean grilled pork chops for our dinner tonight.  We ate the last ears of corn and a tomato.  A good meal, before settling in to watch TV for the evening.
