We went to sleep with the windows open next to the bed. It was warm last night, but we had a nice breeze coming through the windows and we both slept great. I woke up at 5:15. I was tired last night and just couldn't do the blog, so I wanted to post it this morning as we have a busy day ahead of us - again! Staying busy is a good thing though!
I enjoyed my coffee this morning as I worked on Wednesday's post and waited for Google Photos to download my pictures from yesterday so I could get them included before I posted it at 7:30.
Once I was finished, I made our breakfast shakes then read my blogger friends posts while I drank my shake. We need to be in Columbus by 10 for our 6 month dentist visit. I managed to get everything done before we left the RV at 9:10. We needed to run by the Post Office to pick up some mail I am expecting from my lung doctor. It hasn't arrived yet. I also had mail sent to us from our mail service earlier this week. I thought it might be there today but I received a message before we made it to the post office it will not be here until Monday. That package has my medication in it that I went to Vinita to pick up last week. I'm sure glad they gave me 10 pills as I am going to need every single one of them before it gets here. Dean wanted to drive down by the river before we head to Columbus, and we had plenty of time. The river came up from last night when we stopped at the lookout with Dacy and Tucker.

See the flag at the stop and to the left - it was windy today, with a southern wind. |
I received a text from the dentist office before we left Oswego. Once we arrive, one of us should go in to the office to get paperwork and pagers. We are to wait in the car until our individual pager goes off. One of the questions was "have you traveled in the US recently." We both marked it no, and then we remembered we had been to Tahlequah, OK on Monday, so we changed our no to a yes. They had to run it by Doc and he said it was fine. We had routine x-rays and cleanings. Dean needs to have a crown, and I need to have a post and a crown from a tooth that broke off a few years ago. In addition, I have been wanting to have crowns put on my 4 front top teeth for many, many years. I had the appointment made, to start the process 3 years ago when I was diagnosed with the sarcoidosis. I had to cancel it. I'd really like to get these taken care of. Now we just need to set the dates for the work and get it done.

While we were in Columbus, we drove by the High School and found Granddaughter Dacy on top right, one of many banners attached to the fencing - 2020 Senior |
It was 11:30 when we left, so we decided to stop at Sonic and buy 2 of their quarter pound double cheeseburgers to take back home and eat with a bag of chips. I told Marc I would pick Kamron and Jaxson up around 12:30-12:45. After we ate, I made a quick stop at Dollar General to get something for them to drink while they are here, then drove to Altamont. They have gotten settled in nicely to their new home. Last week they hired someone to put up a fence around their backyard to keep the dogs in. With it up, their backyard looks much bigger than it did when you couldn't tell exactly where the yard was in relation to the neighbors. Marc has all of his woodworking equipment set up, and he recently finished closing in an area of the shop to be used for painting. They have a nice concrete pad with a cover in their backyard that will be great for grilling and having a little outdoor fire area. They are so happy to be settled in.
As we neared Oswego, I told them we needed to make a stop before we go to the RV. As we drew close to a driveway, I asked Jaxson if he knew where we were going. He said, yes, the Golf Course. Kamron wanted to know why we were going there. Jaxson said to see Aunt Misti. Misti was surprised and happy to see them both. She is working at the golf course during the day while waiting on things to open back up in the physical therapy world. We stayed and visited for 20 minutes or so. On the way to Oswego they wanted to know if they could have pancakes. Sure - once we returned to the RV, between Kamron and Jax they mixed ingredients and put them in the pan. They love those pancakes. Afterwards we played a few games of Go Fish, War and then Kamron and I played another game - not sure of the name, but highest card wins. Papa returned from the garage not too long after that. There were a few tickle wars, back scratching (Kamron's favorite thing for me to do), and just talking a bit before we loaded up to take them back to Altamont. Dean and I went to the shop to visit with Marc for a few minutes before we said goodbye one last time to the kiddoes.
When Dean came home earlier he said guess what I did today. He cut down the crooked tree that had grown up inside of the pine tree by the road. When he sets his mind to something he's going to find a way to get it done and he sure did. As we came back into town I asked him to drive to the lot so I could see it. Wow. It sure looks better. He cut the crooked tree trunk up in pieces. He has a place near the site where he is going to burn the wood, right over a tree trunk that he wants to get rid of as well.

The tree trunk is laying to the right, along with all of the brush he could pull out of it. |

The pine tree looks so much better now. It needs a little trimming to clean it up but it looks so much better. It won't be long and Dean will be mowing under another tree! |
Once we arrived at Bentley I was trying to figure out what to fix for supper. I had washed the pancake dishes earlier and they were still on the drying mat - so I asked Dean, would you like pancakes for dinner? Sure! I fried a few pieces of bacon and we enjoyed our pancakes. He had a couple of brownies and a few cashews afterwards. Hopefully it tides him over until morning.
At 7:46 I walked outside to see if the sun was getting close to setting - it may take another 20-30 minutes. Hopefully, I don't get busy with something else and miss it altogether. At least the sun has been out most of the day. Our forecast for tonight is for more storms around 1am. We've had quite a bit of rain the past few days. If we get the rain they are calling for I imagine we'll see flooding like we did in March after we returned from our trip out west.

Not a glorious sunset, but very pretty. It's wonderful to just see a sunset after not having seen many recently. |
It's hard to believe we've been back here for 2 months now. We made reservations at a campground in Oklahoma the first of the week for a couple of nights. It will be nice to have a change of scenery for a few days. It looks like our granddaughters graduations will not happen until near the end of June, so after our doctor visits next week we might do some traveling for a couple of weeks. There is plenty to see and do, while social distancing. It will give Dean a break from all of his work too. I don't think he'll be able to stay away very long at a time though. Lol!
Wow! I'm tired reading about your busy day! Ours was busy but visiting was all we did. :)
ReplyDeleteThe tree cleanup sounds like Bill. He likes to remove trees that don't make sense in the middle of a cutting field. If they are small or dead, get them out, he says! I get the final say, usually. haha
Nothing wrong with pancakes and bacon for supper! It's easy and tasty!
You sound like me about the sunset. Luckily, we have a view here from our window so I seldom miss them. At Pilot Knob I would say to myself 'go back in 10 minutes to check' and 20 minutes later it was done. LOL
HAHA. I CAN be pretty lazy if I want to, be but my energy level is usually pretty high. I think pancakes and bacon will be a staple meal from now on....easy peasy! It fills me up, and Dean can always make popcorn (which is exactly what he did later) if he's still hungry.
DeleteSince we are on the east side of the park, I can't see the sunset at all unless I go outside. That's why I miss so many of them.
