I was up at 5:30 this morning and as soon as the coffeepot was perking, I was in high gear to get a few things done. I didn't do as much around the RV yesterday as I normally do as far as picking up, putting away, etc.; as bending and stretching were giving me fits. I do feel much better today but still have a bit of pain when I move a certain way.
Today is May Day. It's been awhile since I've really thought about enjoying May Day as a child. We always made May Day baskets in grade school, and we danced around the Maypole during recess as well. Such a fun time we had as children. Everything was simple, we played with all of our friends at school and in the neighborhoods where we lived.
Jaxson is coming to visit us for the day. It's the official day for Marc and Jen to sign papers and move in to their new home. I am very happy and excited for them, and I am happy they will be closer to us. I offered to have Jaxson stay here with us today. As of yesterday afternoon they planned to have everything loaded last night except their mattress. They will sign their papers and then move the final loaded trailers to their new home where they can begin moving things in.
I left here at 7:25 in order to pick him up at 8:00 at his Mimi's house - Jen's mom. Kamron and Jaxson spent the night with her. I could tell they had not been awake long when I arrived. We gathered up Jaxson's things and headed back to Oswego. They are both excited about moving into their new home.
When we returned Papa Dean was still here. He is golfing this morning and he left a short time after we arrived. Jaxson wanted to call Aunt Misti to see if we could stop by to see her later. He just loves her! Unfortunately, she is working at the golf course all day. He wasn't hungry yet but wanted some juice.
About an hour later, Misti called. She was going to fill the "ball washers" and pick up the trash at each of the holes on the golf course. She wanted to know if Jaxson would like to go with her on the golf cart. He said "that's a great idea". That worked well as I needed to go to the grocery store and I didn't want to take him in with me due to the "virus". I've been putting off buying anymore groceries until today (first of the month). I was in line to pay when she called that he was ready to go.
After we returned, I put the groceries away, we played for awhile and then we set down to do his homework. He wasn't overly excited but I told him if we got it done now we could play the rest of the day and he was okay with that.

| Once he started his homework I think he actually enjoyed it. |
Since I have put the hummingbird feeder out, he loved watching the hummers throughout the day, especially when we finally had two hummers show up at the same time. The two females were after each other and I don't know which I enjoyed most - the humming birds or watching and listening to Jaxson when he saw them.
Evidently the hummer can see a reflection of himself in the window. He will go right up to the window and peck it. I tried to get a picture of him, but they didn't come out well.
Papa came home for lunch. After making his sandwich, Jaxson and I made pancakes. He loves helping. After lunch he watched "Finding Nemo" on Disney+ while I did the dishes and put things away. We have Disney+ free for a year. Thank you Disney!!
In the afternoon, we went to the garage to see Papa for a little while, and we took a walk around the RV park when we returned. Last time he was here he loved the walk, and he met my cousin (and his) Todd. Today he was looking for Todd and when we finally saw him, he was excited to tell him about his new house.
After Dean returned from the garage around 5, we decided to visit Sonic Drive-In at Columbus for dinner. Since we haven't been to a Sonic in a very long time and Jaxson loves their popcorn chicken we thought it was a good choice.
Marc sent a text while we were waiting on our food, that we could bring Jaxson back anytime, so after our dinner, we stopped at the RV to pick up Jaxson's things and headed to Altamont, his new hometown. He was out of the truck as quick as he could and in the door. Up until now he had never been in the house, so he was excited to see it and his new room. We visited with Marc and Jen, and Lou & Mark, Jen's mom and brother for awhile. Soon after we arrived, Aunt Misti stopped by, then later Jen's friend Danielle. Jaxson took Danielle through the house showing her everything, like a tour guide!
It was a great day! Papa and Nana were tired when we returned home, so this post is being written Saturday morning. Being a grandparent is the best! We sure love those grandkids! We are really missing those that are not nearby.
Our stay in place order has been lifted to some degree, so maybe we can visit our Wichita families soon. We are still praying we can make it to New York in June to see our family there too. They are located in the far northwest part of the state so we have hope. Our plans for the summer after visiting with them, was to visit several of the eastern states, especially along the Atlantic. I don't imagine that will happen now, but there are other states we could visit as we head back toward Kansas that we have not visited before.
Dean told me he mowed further back on the lot towards the highway, so we drove down and walked the area. He discovered two "wildlife?" trails through this area. Here is a picture of one.

I am truly thankful for each of our kids and the wonderful grandchildren they have blessed us with. They are so much fun - even more so, now that we have retired!!
