I was awake around 4:30 this morning. I knew my list was long. Unfortunatley, I couldn't get started on it this early since almost every single one required a phone call. I don't think anyone would enjoy being awaken this early in the morning only to hear me asking for information.
I kept busy until Dean was up and around. We left soon after to take the car to our local Co-op to have a tire repaired. We have a slow leak. On the way back I had Dean drop me by Todd's shop, so I could pick more blackberries to add to what I had already picked. I think I have enough to make some individual cobblers in my custard dishes. I'm anxious to try them.
After returning to Bentley, I set down to tackle my list. One item was deciding whether to renew our Good Sam membership. It's $79 for 3 years. When we stay in Wichita at All Seasons they accept Good Sam's. Looking back in our records, for 2018 to date we have saved $43 above the 3 year membership fee just in our visits to Wichita - and we still have 6 months of this year left. That doesn't include the other parks we have stayed that also accept GS. It's good to know you are getting your money's worth. Good Sam's, Passport America and Dean's National Park Senior Pass are used most often in our travels, and have saved us many dollars over the years.
I had a few other phone calls to make but as often, it means leaving a message and hope they return the call. I made a note the call was made and when, so I can follow up if needed.
We stopped at 11:30 or so to eat lunch. We left Oswego about 12:30, making a stop at Marc's, where we dropped Jaxson's clothes off that I forgot to send home with him yesterday. Marc was getting ready to leave to deliver some orders. We visited with him and the kids for a few minutes before starting our drive to Wichita for the afternoon/evening. Jarred's daughter Emerson has a T-ball game at 5:45. It was a nice drive, and as usual, I took a few pictures of the Flint Hills.

We arrived at Andrea's parents house around 4:15 where we enjoyed holding Hayden, who is just shy of 4 weeks old. She has changed so much - and I FAILED to take a picture of her. However, I took several of big sister Emerson. We will be back in two weeks to see another game, and I'll be sure to get pictures of Hayden then! Emerson entertained us with her musical abilities to sing a song from Frozen - Let It Go and a few others, including This Girls on Fire by Alicia Keys. At barely 5, she has these songs down almost word for word and she's not shy about singing either. It reminds me of Haleigh when she was just a little older doing the same thing.
At 5:15 or so, we followed Jarred to the Y, where the T-ball fields are located. Oh my, it was SOOOOOO hot!. The temperature was 99, with a heat index of around 106. Those little kids did not seem to be bothered by it - but this Nana sure was. It just zaps my strength. However, the game was fun to watch. Emerson did a really good job. They practice for 30 minutes then play approximately another 30 minues, enough that the kids each get to bat twice.

| Wow, she was thirsty after that HOT game! |
After the game we make a quick stop at Heath's to see their family. The boys are growing up too quickly, as all of the grandkids are. Abram (who will be 13 in September) is as tall as his Papa and is wearing a size 12 shoe. We enjoyed the visit, even if it was short.
We left after 30 minutes or so. We were both hungry, so we stopped at MacAlister's Deli for sandwiches. We chose a wrap, a tea and a bag of chips, then we hit the road. We still have 3 hours to go and by now it was past 7:30.

I tried to stay awake but driving puts me to sleep easily.

When I was awake, I saw three deer standing by the road in about a 10 mile area along Highway 400. I'm so glad none of them were spooked as we drove by. We see way too many car accidents because of deer. I'm glad we were not one of them. After reaching Labette County, Dean took what we refer to as Montana Road back to Oswego. We saw one other deer along side the road here, but it never even flinched as we drove by. What a blessing!
It was a litle after 11:00 when we arrived in Oswego. We were both tired but needed to wind down just a bit from the days activities. At 11:30 we laid our heads down on our pillows. I don't remember anything until after 5:30 Thursday morning. It was a very good night's sleep!
