This lake life is making me lazy - sleeping late in the morning causes my day to go way too fast! I called Melvern Lake this morning to see if anyone had reserved our site yesterday, since the check in time today for us is 6:00 p.m. We were hoping we could leave early to arrive mid-day, rather than at 6pm. When I reached someone at their main office I was disappointed to find someone was in our spot. I asked if I could call back later to find out if they had left early, only to be told they had no way of knowing that. Hmmm. Once we arrived and I realized there was someone in the entrance booth at the park, I wondered why they could not have given me their number so I could check with them. Arriving somewhere at 6 in the evening is not something we want to do again. We like to leave early and arrive early so we can enjoy the afternoon and evening where we stop.
After our showers this morning, we drove to Vinita where I was scheduled for lab work at the Cherokee Health Center.

While we were there I also picked up a prescription I ordered last week. We were hungry so we made a quick stop at Braum's for a breakfast sandwich. I have to say it is one of the cleanest Braum's I've been in. We went in to order, and since we were the only two people in the building besides the workers, we decided to eat in rather than in the car. Their egg, meat and cheese sandwich on a biscuit were slightly larger and better tasting than the one's we've been getting from McDonald's. Their biscuits used to be nice and fluffy and now they are always dry, so Braum's were a nice treat.
We returned to the RV Park. As we were packing things up our neighbors walked over to tell us goodbye. They were supposed to stay until tomorrow, but decided to leave today. We had a nice visit with them for over an hour or more. We really enjoyed their company while we were here. I gave them our card and contact information and we hope our paths cross again someday. I am still hoping they will check out our Escapee group.
It was close after lunch sometime when our neighbors pulled out. We had a quick lunch, finished packing, then we made a stop at the waste station to empty our tanks before heading north to Melvern Lake. We left the campground at 2:35pm. I took random pictures along the way

| What a great mural! I love running across murals as we travel. When it's on my side of the vehicle I can get a much better picture. I only wish I knew the story behind it. |

| I haven't included a flag picture for awhile. Not much wind moving today. |
We arrived at our site #2, in the A Loop on River Pond Parkway at 6:30pm.
It was a long drive today. As I was putting the slides out after Dean had leveled everything, I heard this awful crunching sound. Oh, no! I have some 5# weights and one of them rolled behind the kitchen slide near the couch. It cracked the trim. My head is hanging....I felt so bad, as I forgot to make sure they were secured.
I googled restaurants near us and we decided to drive in to nearby Lyndon, KS to eat at Ann's Diner. What a great choice it was. I chose the pork tenderloin sandwich and sweet potato fries.
It was very, very good. Dean had the chicken fried steak sandwich and he said his was equally good. Ann's Place was decorated with a rock n roll theme.
I enjoyed walking around looking at all of the posters and such on the walls, as we were the only person in that part of the restaurant. It was a little after 7 when we arrived.
When we returned to Melvern Lake, we drove around through the campgrounds. We were very impressed with this Park.
