Happy birthday to my sister Crystal! She is #3 of the 4 girls my parents had. My sisters are my best friends and we are very close - both in age and in caring for each other. There is not quite 6 years between me (the oldest) and my youngest sister.
Crystal I hope your day was wonderful and extra special - just like you!

You might remember not long ago our neighbors Jack and Lynette invited us over for dinner and she made homemade rolls. They were delicious. She said she also used the recipe to make cinnamon rolls. I mentioned I had never made homemade cinnamon rolls and she said come over sometime and we'll make them. So, this morning was the day. I really appreciated her taking the time to do this with me. I actually tried making homemade rolls once - years and years and years ago - maybe 40+ years ago. It was not pretty - instead they were VERY heavy. I think I could have knocked someone out with them. I've never tried again - instead I bought a bread machine that I used for years. I let it go when we went full-time, so what better time to learn a new skill.
I did most of what was needed which was great experience and they turned out wonderful. Now, why didn't I get a picture of those? We were too busy eating them I guess. Yes, I did eat one, and it was delicious!! Thank you Lynette and Jack for taking the time with me!!
Dean and I ran to Old McAllen for a short time when we were done with the rolls. I wanted to get some eyebrow makeup I bought at a beauty store there last year. I really liked it and it was only $.99, and the price had not changed. I also wanted some new makeup brushes - and I was lucky enough to find a great set on sale - and the last box.
Tonight there is a braut and sloppy joe meal with games at 5, so we hurried back to the park. When we pulled in it appeared the games were already underway. Once we returned to Bentley I double checked the calendar and the games started at 3 - well, shoot. We signed up to play bean bag baseball and we missed out! We walked up and at least got to finish watching the 4 teams play off in the second round. Fortunately, there were 4 people who wanted to play that did not sign up, and 4 who forgot to show up on time (hanging my head), so it all worked out fine.
It was fun to watch them and we were cheering right along with the players. Here's a few pictures:

| Kim - she and her husband, David put the dinner and games together. Kim also led our Bible Study while we were here. |
The food was amazing as usual - braut or sloppy joe, spaghetti salad (which was wonderful), chips and drink for $5. Just as we finished eating my son Marc called me and I talked to him for awhile. He and Jaxson were on their way to Pittsburg to get more supplies for woodworking jobs he has. Dean helped put tables and chairs away after the meal.

I talked to a few ladies before we left to see if they were playing cards tonight and they are. I went home and got my board and card holder and came back. I sure enjoy playing with these ladies and had a good time. It's a great way to meet the people here in the park and build new relationships. We had a good time this evening though I was on the losing side again. The cards started out great but didn't end up in our favor in the end. You win some and you lose some. Of course, I love to win, but it doesn't bother me if I don't. I enjoy the game and the people I'm with much more.
