Friday, February 22, 2019 - Early Morning Wake-up; Last Chiropractic Visit; Last Mexico Trip; Lunch at Casa de Marisco; Afternoon Nap; Walk Around the Park; New Home for Friends; Two More Sleeps

I was up EARLY this morning - a little before 5.  My last chiropractic visit is at 8:00am, which meant I needed to get around much earlier than even my normal early time.  I left here at 7:30 for the 20 minute drive.  It's not that far away but the traffic at this time of day was a little busy.  The treatments have really helped my neck, shoulder, hip and knee.  I am continuing with the exercises that help strengthen the back muscles and hopefully will help to improve my posture as well over time.

Once back home, I was able to get a few things done before we left at 10 to follow our Heartland friends, Dave & Nancy, Lin & Debbie and Jay and Stella to Mexico.  Jack and Lynette rode with us.  The weather today was not the best - it drizzled off and on throughout the morning and very early afternoon.  We really thought it might keep the crowd down in Mexico.  While it wasn't as bad as the last few times we visited, it was still very busy.  We made several stops along the way and the only thing we bought were a few antibiotics.  We walked further than we normally do and I finally got to see "Gloria's", the place many of the guys have talked about for an old fashioned hair cut with the warm towels and all.  I've tried to get Dean to go, but he says he has a great barber!  I'm not sure I agree with that statement, but I guess if he's happy with my ineptness at cutting hair,  I'll keep doing it.  Lol!

Our next stop was at Casa de Marisco in Westlaco.  We ate here shortly before we left last year and I've been looking forward to going back ever since.  Today I ordered the special, 3 enchiladas (2 beef and 1 cheese), beans and rice.  In trying to at least try to be good on this diet, I only ate 1 of the enchiladas, some chips and salsa, and a small portion of the beans.  We brought our leftovers home and Dean can have them for lunch tomorrow.

On the way home, I could not keep my eyes open, no matter how hard I tried.  I felt bad since we had Lynette and Jack with us.  Once home, I went straight to my chair and didn't wake up until almost two hours later.  I didn't get up that much earlier than normal this morning, so I'm not sure why I was so tired, but my body must have needed the rest and I feel pretty energized this evening.

Nancy came to the door while I was asleep and while I vaguely remember Dean going to the door I don't really remember much else.  When I made bread pudding for the Super Bowl party, I left the container with the sauce for the remaining bread pudding, and she was returning it to me.  I'm sorry I was out of it Nancy!

When I woke up, Dean and I took a walk around the park.  He remarked the other night when he had to go out to the truck for something, how many people were walking, so we joined them this evening.  He was right too, we saw several others this evening.  We stopped at Steve and Diane's new home and they gave us a tour.  They closed on the purchase of a park model and got possession of it today.  I am excited and happy for them.  It will be a great winter home.

I've spent the rest of this evening catching up the blog.  I am now current for the first time in weeks!  It feels good.

One last thing.  We have stayed so busy I have not done a very good job in reading emails or blogs.  While we were waiting on Jack and Lynette to join us this morning I was looking at emails and found one from a fellow blogger, Mike Mills, asking if I'd be interested in meeting up with other bloggers in the area.  Unfortunately, with the plans we had today and getting ready to leave tomorrow, we will not be able to participate.  I am really disappointed about that.  I do hope it might become an annual thing and we have the opportunity to do this in the future.  I really enjoy Mike's blog Phannie and Mae.  Thank you for the invite Mike and I hope everyone has a great time together.

We have two more sleeps before we leave and one of them is about to happen....
