Thursday, March 18, 2021 - Breakfast at Lacy's; and Preparing to Move

Thursday, March 18, 2021 - Breakfast at Lacy's; and Preparing to Move

I woke up to some strong winds and rain this morning.  I headed downstairs to make the coffee.  It wasn't too long after it was ready Dean came downstairs.  He looked out the window and said it snowed.  Thank goodness it wasn't much.  I'm surprised with the rain that we could even tell it snowed.  It didn't last long.  I managed to get this picture of some that was left on the car windshield as we left for breakfast.  Dean wanted to have breakfast at Lacy's this morning.  He misses them, and so do I.

We enjoyed visiting with Betty, Jerry & Carol.  They follow our blog so they knew about the trials we had during the snow and ice in Texas.  Jerry & Carol have RV'd for several years.  It's good to visit with other RVer's.  We can learn quite a bit from each other.

There was no snow on the ground, but some remained on the front window of the car.

When we returned to Bentley, I had a list of things I was hoping to accomplish today.  Dean and I are hosting the first campout of the year for our Escapees group at Cedar Oaks RV Park in Grove.  It is scheduled for the third week of April, so this morning was spent working on information to post to our group camping page, after talking to our President Alvin.  I think we will have a fun, full three days and we are looking forward to seeing everyone after this cold winter we've had.

My friend Drena suggested I try cleaning the print head on our printer, after reading my comments about our printer not working.  I did that, but unfortunately it didn't help.  I can make a copy of something and it prints fine, but it will not print a document sent to the printer from either of our Chromebooks, or from our old computers.  Dean spent a good part of the day trying to do just that.  For some reason it has just quit.  We will bite the bullet and purchase a new one.  He did quite a bit of research on printers for Chromebooks, and found one that is compatible; and it happens to be one that I was looking at.  We'll see!

I needed to clean the washing machine, so I started that process.  The cleaning process goes through 3 complete cycles.  It takes about 1.5-2 hours for each cycle, and it should be done once a month.  I finally finished all three cycles, in between phone calls, lunch, dinner and working on other things.

Dean emptied our tanks this morning, put diesel in the truck, and got everything ready for our move tomorrow.  We plan to pick up Heath's boys around 1pm, assuming we are able to leave on time.  We plan to go bowling, and then we'll take them to dinner later - their choice if they can all agree.  If not, we may draw names from Papa's hat. LOL!  We'll leave it up to them if they want to stay the night with us or not. Just in case, we are taking the blow-up mattress.  We are sure looking forward to spending some quality time with them.  The grand kids are all growing up so fast, we need to take time to enjoy them now.

It's been a busy, but quiet day.

Thank you for the comments on the blog and Facebook.  I love hearing from you.

    1. The campout was a success, now in KY with two other couples. We have had some ups and downs in the travels but nothing we couldn't handle. More to come soon.

  3. I realize this isn't an updated one, you have moved since this post.
You were busy cleaning things. Bill keeps talking about a smaller new printer to fit in here better although this one works fine. We're planning on moving its location in the Suite so that should make him happier. :)
You will have fun not only planning your Escapees campout but at the 3 day event. Nice to hear they aren't cancelling things. Here so much is getting cancelled because of Covid. Grrr.
I wanted to tell you that to the best of our knowledge, this coating product on the Suite is Platinum Pain Finish. 2 bottles of 112 ml were used at $38.63 Cdn. The good thing for Bill is he didn't have to do it. It never needs waxing but that is how this product goes on.
