Friday, January 12, 2018 - Laundry; Waiting for Mobile RV Repair; Shopping; Propane

First things first - I apologize for the incomplete post on Wednesday, January 10 when I forgot to include the name of the Mexican Restaurant Dennis gave to me.  It is Las Margaritas.  I put the ??? marks in place so I would remember to include it - and while I thought I re-read each of those posts before I actually posted them - I evidently missed that one or at least that part of it.

It cooled down a little last night but we went ahead and kept the windows open in the bedroom and it wasn't too bad snuggled down under the covers.  It was close to 6 before we woke up, so we were a little late taking our morning walk, not until 7:30.  This morning we stepped it up a bit both in distance and time.  We walked just over 2 miles and our pace was 17:14 min/mile.  Hopefully we are getting back into our regular groove.  It is hard walking around in a circle here in the park 5 times in order to get in 2 miles.  The one thing about walking in Oswego at the park, there is so much to see between the park and fairground area where we can walk much further distances without repeating the route, that the time just seems to fly by - not so much here with the same scenery.  That is why I think we will enjoy walking in the Bentsen-RGV State Park that is only about a mile down the road from us.

Once we returned we ate breakfast and I did the dishes from last night and this morning - not too many, made more ice tea for the day and got the laundry together.  Hopefully I will be able to get it done this morning.  While I am at the clubhouse (where the laundry is located) I'll check out the various events coming up.  I think I'll sign up to bring something to one of them.  The next Sunday Sundaes is on the 21st so maybe I'll make some brownies or a cake for that. We need to mingle more and get to know more people here in the park.

We will be here at the park today until Gabriel either shows up to work on our rig, or calls to let us know when he will be coming.  A propane company also visits the park on Wed and Fri.  We have a tank that needs to be filled so we hope to catch them, as well. While we do not need the tank at this time, we want to get it filled so we don't get caught at some point without propane.  Dean is outside emptying our black and grey tanks, so we'll be good for another week or so on that chore.

My back is feeling much better - still a little sore but much improved.  I've noticed that it bothers me more sitting on our love seat than it does when I sit on the couch; or when I am working on the blog it is better if I am sitting in a chair at the table/desk; so I will be adjusting where I sit from now on in hopes I can keep it from flaring up again.

I hope we are able to get out and do something later today.  I really need to make a Walmart run and I'm just ready to do a little sightseeing, even if it's just a drive around the area.  We also need to find a place to get an estimate on the truck damage so we can turn it in to our neighbor.

Dean just told me he sent Gabriel a text message asking if he would make it here today.  At least we'll know if we need to hang around or not.  I don't mind waiting if it means he will be here and get it taken care of.

Dean didn't want to take me up to do laundry in case Gabriel showed up, so I drove the truck up there.  As I left I noticed a guy coming in our direction and he was really looking at our truck as I drove by.  I thought, I bet that is Gabriel, just as he turned into our lot.  Dean was still outside.  He was only here today to make sure he had the exact parts he needed so he could call it in to our warranty company.  Hopefully he'll be able to get it taken care of the first of next week.

I only had two loads and they were done in no time.  While the machines were doing their magic, I decided to take advantage of a bicycle machine in the clubhouse.  Between the time I washed 2 loads of clothes and dried both of them ($5 worth of quarters to get 15 minutes of drying time for each .50) I managed to pedal over 7 miles.  Yes, 10 rounds in the dryer to dry two loads of clothes.  We will now be be looking for a clothesline to purchase that we can put up in our lot.  The dryers here do not work that well and one of them did not work at all today.  The washers here are great and clean.  I watched our neighbors put out two loads of laundry on their clothesline today.  They seemed to be dry in just a very short time.  We did have a pretty decent wind today but I think it would be pretty easy to do them in the morning and have them dried by noon or so.

While waiting, I also walked into the main part of the clubhouse and looked at all of the signup sheets for various things, worked on a jigsaw puzzle that was laid out on a table, read several chapters of a book I have on my Kindle and visited with several folks as they came in.  One guy, Gary wanted to know if I went to church.  I told him I did when we were at home but we haven't gone here, but I would like to.  He invited us to church this Sunday.  I told him I would visit with Dean and would let him know.

This event looks like it might be fun to watch!

After the laundry was done, we decided to go shopping and try to find a clothesline.  We checked all the places we thought we might find one - Walmart, Lowe's, Bed Bath & Beyond, and an RV Store -- with no luck.  We'll have to ask our neighbor where they found theirs.  As many as we have seen in the park I would have thought it would be pretty easy to find one.

Dean thought this would be great for him to use as his golf cart back home.

Look at the smile on his face!!!

Our last stop was at Walmart before heading back to the park.  We needed a few groceries and DEF for the truck.  We just had some crackers, cheese and summer sausage for dinner with a little trail mix as a snack later on.   While we were eating I heard something and looked out the window to see the propane truck was next door to us.  Dean hurried outside to catch him and managed to get the tank filled.  We won't have to worry about that again for awhile.

We do not have any plans for tomorrow but I'm sure we'll find something to do.
