Tuesday, April 14, 2020 - Morning Walk and Busy Work At Home

It was a cool 38 degree morning but it appeared there was little to no wind, so we headed to the park about 7:30 for our 2 mile walk.

I took this picture right after we got out of the car - should we have stayed home or continued our walk?

It was windier than we realized.  We noticed the city crews had cut the brush back around the flag pole providing a better view of the Neosho River Valley.

Brave souls that we were, we continued on.  The first mile was rough, the second mile was better once I kept my hands in my pockets.  Lol!  We persevered and was glad we made the effort.

We drove down to the river and then around town before heading home.  I love to show off our community so I took a few more pictures of our lovely town to share with you.  We have some beautiful old homes.  I hope to get out one day when it's nice and sunny so I can get pictures of some of the other older homes here in town.

This rock bridge was built when the shelter houses in the park were constructed.

Fishing takes place on both sides of the river.  That's the bluff where the park is located.

This is the "Gossard" home.  It's a gorgeous home.  The sidewalk out front was all dug up and put back to its original state after the new owner purchased the home.  They spent much time on the home after they purchased it.  My sister Jody lives across the street to the south, and my sister Cindy lives two houses behind this house to the north.

This home was originally built by Mr. Richcreek, and is now the home of our former Mayor, Phil Blair & his wife Patty.  When we moved to Oswego in 1970, we lived in a house a block away.  We used to play softball in the lot behind it.

Back at Bentley, I asked Dean what he'd like to have for breakfast today.  He said he'd like to have a breakfast burrito, but we didn't have any tortillas.  He said he'd settle for the filling (Fried potatoes, sausage, eggs and cheese).

While I intended to take a picture of each step and the final plate - I failed to do so.  We were hungry, what can I say?

I did the dishes, made the bed, took down and folded the clothes I had left hanging in the shower to finish drying overnight.  I updated my budget info, and then readied birthday cards to go in the mail tomorrow.

When Dean left after lunch to go back to the shop I asked him to stop by the Post Office either on his way back to the garage or on his way home to pick up some more packages that have delivered there.  He's also going to stop at the grocery store to pick up some more salad dressing for the remainder of the taco salad we will have this evening for dinner.  He takes such good care of me.

I was able to mark many items off my to do list today, but still have several more I want to accomplish or get started on tomorrow and I've got to get back to the pictures soon as well.

Dean worked at the lot cutting more brush.  He was pretty worn out when he returned home.  After our taco salad dinner, he watched TV and I went upstairs to look at various apps on my phone and listen to music.

It was a productive day for both of us, and that's always a good day.
