Sunday, April 12, 2020 - Happy Easter!  Quiet Day; Bible Stories on Discovery; Easter Dinner; Apple Crisp/Ice Cream; American Idol

Happy Easter Morning!

I finished up yesterday's blog post so I could get it posted this morning.  I didn't expect we would take that drive yesterday or watch movies all evening, but we sure enjoyed it.

We both liked the pancakes so well yesterday, that I made them again this morning.  It's a nice change from our protein shakes.  We are supposed to get more of Dean's vanilla flavored shake mix on Tuesday, then back to shakes again.

After lunch, I put our dinner for tonight in the crock pot.  Ranch House Pork Chops.  I put 4 pork chops in the crock pot, after spraying it lightly with oil.  I added a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix and a can of cream of chicken, then turned the crockpot on low.  About every hour I moved the pork chops around a bit to be sure they were coated well with the gravy mixture.

Yesterday I set the TV to record 5 hour long Bible movies on The History Channel. We spent about 3 hours watching them this afternoon.  We will watch the others at a later time.

We've had rain on and off this morning but it's been pretty light.  This afternoon around 4 or so, it let loose and the wind came up.  Dean went to the garage for awhile, and returned home just as it started.  We haven't had much rain since 5 or so, but the wind is still blowing and the temperatures are dropping.  It's currently 41 outside, whoops 39.  It might be a cold night out there.

At 5, I dished up our dinner. Along with the pork chops we had mashed potatoes and the gravy from the ranch/chicken soup mix, and peas.  We'll have more of the apple crisp and ice cream for dessert later - if we aren't too full.

We talked to our two oldest granddaughters today, Dacy and Haleigh.  It was good to hear their voices and find out what they've been doing.  Brett sent us several pictures of little Jameson by himself and with sister Logen several times today.  He's now three months old and growing way too fast.  Just before posting this, we received a video call from granddaughter Emerson who is 5.

It's almost 7 - time for American Idol.  I hope you have all had a wonderful day.

I'm so thankful for technology that allows us to easily stay in touch with our family members with our phones, apps (such as Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and video chats, especially during this crazy time.

Two blooms gone overnight, but another one bloomed this morning - with one more bud yet to bloom.
