Thursday, August 8, 2019 - One more Sculpture Picture; Back to Estes Park; Having that Steak Dinner; Working on the Blog

The first day we were in Loveland, we passed by a lovely little lake.  It had a sculpture that I loved as it reminded me of our first 5 grandkids.  I told Dean we must stop before we leave to get a picture, so today we did.

While the ages and/or size do not quite match the ages of our grandchildren when they were young - there are 2 boys and 3 girls.  Logan, Haleigh, Dacy, Tucker and Kamron. (in that order) spent a lot of time together at our house.  They loved to play outside and this is something I can see them doing if we'd had a tree trunk available for them to climb on.
Beautiful lake behind the sculptures.

This was my favorite sculpture of all we've seen while here in Loveland.  Papa Dean in the background.

From there we headed back to Estes Park.  We will be staying here for three days when we return from Yellowstone.  We wanted to drive the route to the RV Park before we arrived.  After taking a couple of different routes that took us through downtown where it was pretty tight, I suggested we just go by the park and ask them the best way to come in.  They are supposed to send us directions but while we were here today it's a great time to check it out.  We spoke to a gentleman in the office and he set our fears to rest.

We are glad we stopped to ask for a couple of reasons.  There was an entirely different road to take and even though it was a little longer it was so much easier to get there and leave from!  The other reason, as we drove the route from near the major intersection of highways in Estes Park to Manor RV Park (where we will be staying) I missed seeing the corner we needed to turn at, so we had to turn up into a residential district and here is what we saw:

Now, that was worth the entire trip today.  The only wildlife we have seen other than a chipmunk.

While we originally planned to have lunch in Estes Park, we were both ready to go back to Bentley.  We decided to forgo lunch and just have our steak for a late afternoon meal.  It was delicious, we shared a baked potato and I made a side salad to go with it.  Later Dean scooped up the last of the carton of Ice Cream in bowls for us.  I had a dark chocolate Dove candy, so I shaved it over the top with my zester.  Yum, yum good!

I managed to get two more blog posts done before I called it a night.  Tomorrow we move.
