Sunday, August 11 & Monday, August 12, 2019 - Lander, WY

Sunday, August 11 & Monday, August 12, 2019 - Lander, WY

Sunday, August 11, 2019 We left Rawlins, WY at 10:47am, headed to Lander, WY where we spent two nights.  After the picture debaucle that put me in a bit of a funk, I pulled out of it, and used these two days to get some things done.  I needed to do laundry, we went to the grocery store, rode around the town and that was pretty much it, except for working on the blog and getting all of the pictures uploaded.  While we've had internet the connection wasn't as strong in Rawlins and here in Lander, so it's taken much more time to load the pictures.

We had a beautiful drive to Lander:

It seems as if it's all sky and land!

A quick stop to use Bentley's facilities.  I found this information on Split Rock, and took a picture of "Split Rock" in the mountain range behind it.

Split Rock
From here we moved on down the road toward Lander.  It was a beautiful day, and while it seems cloudy we only had a few sprinkles.

Then the sky cleared and it was blue skies the rest of the way.

Lots of wide open spaces with beautiful venues all across Wyoming.  Such a beautiful state!

We arrived at Sleeping Bear Campground at 1:22pm.  We set up and spent the rest of the day and Monday resting, while I spent quite a bit of time working on the blog.

On our trip to the grocery store we drove around just a bit, and I saw this tree house someone was building, or started to build...but it didn't appear anyone was living there today.  Quite a project!

Today was more of the same - resting, and working on the blog and wishing our granddaughter Kamron a wonderful birthday.  She turned 14 today.  I was able to talk to her for a few minutes and it sure warmed my heart to hear her voice.

Taken while we were shopping for her early birthday present, before we left on this trip.

We did get out in the evening to refuel and made a stop at a local "dairy breeze" for a shake.  That hit the spot!

Tomorrow we head to Moran, WY where we will spend three days visiting Grand Teton National Park.

We are so blessed to have the opportunity to see all of God's wonder as we travel.  It's amazing what he has created for us to enjoy.
