Friday, December 8, 2017 - Breakfast Out, More Paperwork and Laundry

Friday, December 8, 2017 - Breakfast Out, More Paperwork and Laundry

It really got cold last night - in the teens - but we stayed very comfortable in Bentley and we both slept in this morning - until 6:30!

I made coffee but Dean didn't drink any since he's having a fasting blood test this morning (he likes sugar in his coffee).  Since I forgot about the test and made a whole pot of coffee I drank 4 cups, compared to my normal 2.  I didn't feel too bad about that since it's Folger's 1/2 Caff.

Before Dean left to go across the street to the hospital for his test, he asked if I wanted to go eat breakfast when he returned.  I think he is having withdrawals.  He loves eating breakfast here in Oswego at Circle L Cafe (formerly Tina's).  The new owner, Lacey, is Tina's niece.  Lacey often filled in for Tina when she was gone so there's not been any big change in the food.  I've mentioned this before - but everywhere we eat breakfast is compared to the food at Cirlce L/Tina's and has been for years.  So far we've only found one or two places that even get close to the same level - especially when you talk about hash browns and toast.  He's quite picky!  Lol!   I told him I would be ready to go when he got back.

Circle L was pretty busy when we arrived and we took the last table.  I do enjoy getting to visit with folks while we are there, and this morning there were several to visit with.

We returned to Bentley and my task for today was to go through a stack of papers I have accumulated the past several weeks that need to be filed, tossed, or something else needs to be done with them - such as pay a bill, get more information to complete something, etc.  I spent the better part of the day working on this and Dean worked on getting some new automatic bank payments set up...which has not been an easy task!  I have several things waiting on the desk now to be filed in a new folder. Silly me, I took all of my extra files and folders to the storage unit - so now a trip is needed to bring a few extras back.

I had ordered three Christmas presents from Amazon and they were delivered while we were in Garnett.  Todd (my cousin who owns the RV park) held them for me until we returned, so I wrapped those today and took them to Misti's to put under her tree.  We'll have Christmas at her house on Dec. 30th, so I'll deliver my purchases as I get them wrapped.  I also had a couple of loads of laundry I needed to do at her house, so I ran back and forth doing laundry, and dealing with all of those papers!

When I called Century-link over a week ago, after receiving an email we needed to return their modem, they told me they would send a box for us to return it in.  As of today it has not been received at our UPS address box.  I called Century-link to be sure it had been mailed.  The gentlemen I talked to told me it was mailed on November 28,10 days ago.  We'll check again on Monday to see if it has been delivered yet.  It must have been sent by a very slow snail mail!

Our reservations for the RV Park where we will stay in Texas are to begin January 1.  Since we will not be leaving Oswego until Jan 1 now, I called the park to see if we needed to send payment to hold our spot until we arrived around the 3rd-4th, (or later subject to weather).  They told me our 3 month reservation would not begin until we arrived, so there was no need to pay before we arrive.

Speaking of Texas, what a surprise to learn they had snow there last night.  I certainly hope that weather doesn't hang around.....ugh!  Some of the folks we know that have already gone south were posting pictures of it on Facebook this morning.

I like having pictures to post each day and since I don't have anything else, and I've not shared a picture of my "Christmas Tree" I bought for Bentley, I will include it here.

Wishing each and everyone a very Merry Christmas!
