Monday, November 26, 2018 - My "To Do" List Was Long---but not anymore!

Monday, November 26, 2018 - My "To Do" List Was Long---but not anymore!

With all that we've had going on, in addition to the the long holiday weekend, I've just been adding to my "To Do" list.  Finally, this morning I was able to start marking things off.  What a great feeling to see that list whittled down to just one or two items that do not need to be addressed until later this week.

Today more doctor appointments were made, and one had to be changed.  I also changed our hotel reservations for Logan's graduation, that will be held at the Great Lakes Navy Base, near North Chicago, IL.  I thought his graduation was on Dec 8 - however, I learned this weekend it is Dec 7.  Fortunately, it was easily fixed.   I ordered a few more Christmas presents; ordered refills on my prescriptions; went to the grocery store; checked emails and now it's time to fix dinner.  It's hard to believe I can list all of those to-do's in this small paragraph when it took several hours to complete them all!   Sounds so simple, doesn't it?  I'm just glad they are taken care of.

Late this afternoon I put everything in the Instapot to make chicken and noodles for our dinner tonight.  On this cold evening, they will taste really good.  I made a large batch so I am going to share some with Misti and Haleigh.

It turned really cold yesterday afternoon so Dean filled our water tank and picked up the water hose so it wouldn't freeze overnight.  Since it's supposed to be below freezing again tonight he'll wait until tomorrow to put the water hose back out.  The Weather Channel indicates we should be able to leave it out for at least five nights, as the temperatures are expected to be above freezing.  Of course, we'll check that daily to be sure.  Those warm days will provide time for me to do some laundry this week.  It's amazing how fast the laundry hamper can fill up!

We have been enjoying some really beautiful sunsets here at Hillside RV Park, in our hometown of Oswego, Kansas.

I haven't posted a picture of Bentley lately - so here's one with tonight's sunset in the background.

Dean and I decided that we would once again join an RV group called Harvest Hosts.  Harvest Hosts is made up of a variety of businesses such as farms, wineries, breweries, museums, golf courses and other unique attractions that permits RV's to park on their properties overnight.

We joined Harvest Hosts a couple of years ago but it didn't work out for us since we were not traveling full-time then.  We were always on such a tight schedule we didn't feel like we had the luxury of making time to visit places that were not in a direct route to our next stop.  Now that we have a little more leeway, we think it will offer us some great experiences.  Harvest Hosts is offering their current annual rate of $49 until the end of 2018 and if it is renewed annually, the rate will remain at $49.  However, if you wait until January 1, 2019 the rate will increase to $79/year.  If you are interested in learning more about Harvest Hosts, you can check out their link here.
If any of our RV friends are interested in becoming a member, please let me know and I'll be glad to share our reference link with you.  It will save you 10% off the membership price and we receive $10 for each person who signs up under our link.

We've got quite a few things going on the rest of this week, so stay tuned!

    1. Yes it was - we hope we enjoy HH too. Dean likes to play golf, and there are several golf courses listed now. If we can stay free and he can play golf - it is a wash versus us paying for a campground and a round of golf.

  2. Nice to get things crossed off the to-do list, no matter how big or small they are. I'm sure they took longer than the time it took you to write it in that paragraph! :)
Nice picture of Bentley but you are experiencing too much cold for my liking!
Joining Harvest Hosts sounds like a good plan for you now that you are full-timing. We've heard of others who have done the same but not into it ourselves.
    take care and stay warm!

    1. Oh Patsy - it is way too cold for our liking as well - it's the kiddos that keep us here until Christmas. I would love to be enjoying some of those temps you have experienced! Only 30 days to go!!
If HH does not work for us this time we won't do it again but I want to give it a fair shake to see if it's something we would like. Now that golf courses are included and Dean likes to play - it might prove to be a great deal for us.
