I'm not sure what was causing my problems with Blogger on the last post but hopefully this one will go better. I have to admit I was very tired when I was working on it and I think I might have actually drifted off a couple of times - so who knows what keys I might have pressed that created my problems.
So I wanted to tell you a little about Patti's 1880's Homestead - what a great meal we enjoyed here and it's a fascinating place if you are in the area of Paducah. It is located on the north end of Land Between the Lakes in Grand Rivers. If we had known how busy it would be and the wait time, we would have called ahead for reservations. When we arrived there was almost an hour and a half wait. We decided we would hang around since there was several things we could do to fill our time.
There were two neat shops right across the road from Patti's that we visited. Of course, we are not looking for any "stuff" so we just browsed before moving on to a neat little old house next door where we had a great visit with the proprietor talking about various woodworking projects she and her husband had worked on.
From there we visited a few shops on Patti's property - and we found these neat pallets used for plants. What a great idea for a garden area.

After visiting the neighboring shops, we decided to see if we could find a place to wait as things seemed to be clearing out a bit and it wasn't long until our buzzer went off and we were being seated. Dean ordered the 1" pork chop and I had a huge cheeseburger that was amazing but I couldn't eat it all and had to bring half of it home. (It was just as good the next day when I reheated that portion) They started us off with a roll in a flowerpot an served it with strawberry butter and regular whipped butter. Yummy!

| By the way the homemade chips with my burger were the best I've ever had. |
We didn't try the 7-8" meringue pies but Dean and I did share their dessert special of the day, peach cobbler with ice cream. It was delicious!

We had an enjoyable day here in Paducah and look forward to our next visit. I'm sure there will be another one sometime.
Tomorrow morning we will pull up stakes and head on to Camp Carlson Campground near Fort Knox, KY. We are trying to coordinate our arrival with our son Matt and family as they must sponsor us in order for us to stay in the military campground.
