Thursday, January 31, 2019 - Hodge Podge Day

Thursday, January 31, 2019 - Hodge Podge Day

After breakfast, I ordered a prescription I was going to need by the middle of next week. It should be here by Monday.

Then I was back to the summer/fall trip planning.  It is really time consuming - determining where you want to go, what there is to do there - which really helps to determine the amount of time you want to spend in the area.  We are learning you really need to break up your time to have a down day at least once if not twice over a week period, or at least not to push ourselves everyday to see all there is, but to rest a little so we enjoy each day to its fullest.

In between I was doing some cleaning - the carpets needed to be vacuumed, etc.  Just normal house stuff.

I was expecting some mail today and I wanted to go up to the clubhouse to check out the bulletin board.  There are several items posted there with signup sheets for many of the activities going on in the park.  Dean walked up with me.  I received the prescription I ordered last week and our new membership cards from Passport America.  We signed up for 3 years this time.  They included a new book with all of their parks, and a hat for Dean.  He loves getting new hats!!

Corbin and Flora called to ask if we would like to go with them to listen to Tavie's (Spivey) Rock & Roll Show at Bentsen Palm RV Park.  Of course we said yes, and what a great time we had.  The show was wonderful as you will be able to tell from some of the pictures and videos I am posting below.  Corbin was the star of the show, Tavie wanted to dance with Dean but he just set in his chair, so she held his hand and swayed while she sang to him, and the Big Bopper sang to me.  It was such a fun night and for $6 each you cannot beat the price for the great entertainment we had for nearly two hours.  She has a group she sings with called Shake, Rattle and Roll.  We are planning to go to one of those shows next month at an RV Park near us.

Tavie & Corbin

Hula Hooping - these gals were great!

A couple of ladies from the crowd joined Tavie on stage.

She tried to take my husband to dance, but he sat in his seat and she danced as she sang to him!

These two lucky guys were able to dance to "The Stripper"!  They put on a good show - but fortunately they DID NOT strip!  Lol!

And I had to sort of get into the show - but fortunately for me, I was holding the camera so I only got "The Big Bopper" singing to me!

It started out as a sort of low key, humdrum day and ended up with a very entertaining evening.  Corbin and Flora are a great couple that we enjoy being around.  Thanks so much for the invite!

  1. Ha ha sounds like a fun time! Glad you got out for a great evening!

    1. Patsy it really was. We laughed so much - feels good to enjoy yourself that much!
